WTHR is a weather app made by Always Sometimes, LLC ("Always Sometimes," "we," "us"). This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's handled. WTHR has no user accounts and no login — the practices below apply to every user, since there's no separate signed-in identity to describe.
Location. With your permission, WTHR uses your device's location to show weather for where you are. You can decline this permission; WTHR will then only show weather for locations you search for or select manually.
Location search. If you search for a place by name, that search text is used to find matching locations.
Weather content. To provide weather information and related content, WTHR sends your location to third-party service providers (see below) and receives weather data and generated content in return.
Information stored only on your device. A short list of your recently viewed locations, and any in-app preferences you set, are stored locally on your device and are never sent to us. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes this information.
Diagnostic and performance data. WTHR may record basic performance information (such as how long parts of the app take to load) to help us find and fix issues. This may include your approximate location, but never your name, exact address, or other identifying information, and is used only to improve app performance.
Server logs. Like almost any online service, our hosting provider automatically logs technical information about requests to our servers (such as IP address and timestamp) for security and operational purposes, retained only as long as needed for that purpose.
WTHR relies on third-party service providers to deliver its core features — for example, to supply weather data, to look up and match locations, to generate written or spoken content, and to host our backend infrastructure. These providers receive only the specific, limited information needed to perform their function (such as a location or a short piece of text), never your name or a persistent personal identifier, and process it under their own privacy policies and terms.
Information used to generate weather content is generally cached only briefly and expires automatically. We don't keep a long-term history of your locations or activity on our servers. Locally on your device, your preferences and recent locations stay until you clear them or uninstall the app.
WTHR is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us.
If WTHR's data practices change in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
